Sierra Leone and former Chelsea defender, Aziz Deen-Conteh, has ended his 14-month spell with English League One club, Port Vale after agreeing a deal to leave the club.

The 23-year-old left back was under contract at the Vale Park until the end of the season but both parties decided by mutual consent to part ways.

Deen-Conteh’s departure was confirmed on the club’s website: “Port Vale can confirm that defender Aziz Deen-Conteh has left the club by mutual consent. The 23-year-old, who originally signed for the Valiants in November 2014, is now free to join another club. Deen-Conteh didn’t make a first team appearance during his time at Vale Park but featured regularly for Mick Ede’s reserve side.”

Speaking about the player’s exit, manager Rob Page said: “Aziz has left by mutual consent and we wish him all the best for his future. He’s going back down south to be with his family and we wish him all the best in his hunt for a new club.”

During his stay with the Valiants, the former England youth international who played for the Three Lions at under-16 and under-19 levels, was sent out on a one-month loan to Boston United.

The former Chelsea defender is yet to feature for the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars as he could not make the line-up despite being called into the squad in March 2013 due to an expired passport.
