Sierra Leonean U.S. based sprinter, Hafsatu Kamara, and five other Olympians are currently training with Halo Sport as they continue their preparation for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

The company, Halo Neuroscience, Tuesday confirmed that Kamara, Michael Tinsley, a 400m hurdler from the United States who won silver at the 2012 London games, Mike Rodgers, a 4x100m relay sprinter for Team USA who won gold at the 2015 World Relay Championships, Mikel Thomas, a 100m hurdler from Trinidad & Tobago, and Samantha Achterberg are all using its first product, Halo Sport, for training.

According to the company’s website, Halo Sport uses pulses of energy to prime the brain, powering athletes’ most effective workouts.

The Sierra Leonean Olympic sprinter says using Halo Sport has increased her strength and power more than it was before the African Championship in South Africa.

“During resistance training, I usually do weighted hip thrusts at 100kg,” she said. “After using Halo Sport, I can now train at 120 kg and I feel like my training is pushing me into top form.”

Kamara is expected to join the rest of her teammates who will depart Casablanca, Morocco, today for Rio ahead of the Games’ opening ceremony on 5 August.
