The dispute over ownership of Sierra Leonean international striker Sheka Fofanah has been settled, which is expected to pave the way for the forward to finalise a deal in Denmark.

The long ownership tussle is said to have been one of the delays to the completion of negotiations which started almost two weeks ago.

But according to Chernor Musa Jalloh, the striker’s local agent, the ownership row was settled as a result of an agreement reached in Freetown between the two clubs – Freetown City FC (FCFC) and Giants of Grassfield, who are claiming to own the18-year old.

“I can confirm the dispute is over and all the parties involved walk away with some future benefits,” said Jalloh, who played a role in bringing an end to the dispute.

“His childhood club, Giants of Grassfield, remains the club that retains his transfer right, with the FCFC entitled to the player’s future transfer fee, while Obama FC have a slighter portion. It was great honour that the Mayor of Freetown Franklyn Gibson also played a key and important role to resolve the issue.”

However, the striker’s local agent has refuted news that his client has signed for Danish first division side Vejle BK, despite photos showing the forward signing being posted on social media. It is believed though that the striker is training with the club with possible option to sign a contract.
