Germany and A.S Roma defender, Antonio Rudiger, has officially confirmed he will socially engage Sierra Leone – his mother’s homeland.

Rudiger, whose eligibility to play for the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars, expired under the world governing body, FIFA, regulations after making his debut for Germany on 11 October, 2014 in the EURO 2016 Qualifiers against Poland, is eager to give back to the West Africa nation.

In an interview with Roma Radio, the 22-year-old admitted he would do whatever he could render in his position to help the country.

“The country needs help, and I will do what is in my ways,” the defender who is on loan to Roma from VFB Stuttgart  said in an interview with Roma Radio. “At age 15, I made my first visit to Sierra Leone and I hope I will be in the country as soon as possible to visit again.”

Meanwhile, media reports states that Roma want to renegotiate with the German club to keep the defender at the club and they pushing for the remaining fee of nine million Euros for him (Rüdiger).
