Sierra Leone and Leicester City defender, Alie Sesay, has signed an 18-month loan deal with English League Two side Barnet from the high-flying Premier League club.

The deal was announced by the League Two side on their website on Friday January 15 just few hours after the 21-year-old put pen-to-paper on a one-and-half years contract as he became Barnet’s third signing of the January transfer window, following the arrivals of Chris Hackett and Mark Randall last Thursday.

Confirming Sesay’s move, the club posted on their official web page: “Barnet FC are pleased to announce that Sierra Leone international Alie Sesay has joined the club from Leicester City. The defender arrives at The Hive on an 18-month contract, having captained the Foxes’ Under 21 side on a number of occasions last season.

“Everybody at Barnet FC would like to welcome Alie to the club, and wish him every success while he is at The Hive!” the club said.

Sesay has already bagged two caps for the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars, including the goalless draw against Cameroon during qualifiers for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The defender, who can play across the back four and in central midfield, passed through the Leicester academy but he is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Foxes.

He has previously moved on loan at Colchester and Cambridge United.
