After lifting the US Major League Soccer (MLS) Eastern Conference title, Sierra Leone and Columbus Crew forward Kei Kamara is now eyeing the MLS Cup this year.

Kamara, who started his MLS career with the Crew, said he could not wait to add another title to his cabinet when the Crew face Portland Timbers on December 6, at the Mapfre Stadium

The 31-year-old said: “I made my debut here in front of these fans as a young man; it will be a pleasure to give something back for their tremendous support. It has been a great year with a great team, great lads to play around. We’re looking forward to the final, it’ll be at home in Columbus, we’re very excited, we’re going to play to win it.”

The striker is a key figure for the Crew this season scoring 25 goals in all competition and also won the MLS Player of the Month award four times (April, May, August, September) and was also named in the MLS Player of the Week three times (Weeks 12, 23, 28).

Despite the personal achievement, the forward is still hungry for crown: ““It’s an honor to be part of MLS best 11, but that’s not all, I want to win the cup, and I’m definitely looking forward to face Portland Timbers under different circumstances and a bigger crowd hopefully.”

Kamara returned to the MLS after a spell with Norwich and Middlesborough in England and his return had been a blessing for the Crew, a team he grew up playing his first professional football.
