Government pathologist, Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma, yesterday told a Freetown Magistrate Court that Joseph Forbie, who was allegedly murdered by three accused persons at Sumaila Town, had a stab wound on the neck which measured seven centimeters (7cm) wide.
While testifying before Magistrate Komba Kamanda presiding at the Freetown Magistrates’ Court No.1, Dr. Koroma said on 13 August, with instruction from the Chief Medical Officer and request from the coroner, he carried out an autopsy examination on the remains of Joseph Forbie, 27.
He said that on conclusion of the autopsy he prepared a report which was dated and signed by him, and had since been in his custody. The report was tendered in court as Exhibit R1-5.
He said the original death certificate was issued to relatives of the deceased while a photocopy was handed to the Sierra Leone Police.
The pathologist described the causes of death as acute hemorrhagic shock due to sharp pointed object on the arteries, and the result of a seven-centimeter stab wound on the left part on the neck, which led to his death.
The accused persons – Santigie Mansaray, Abdul Kamara and Masiala Conteh – were arraigned on six counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, to wit murder; murder, assault and wounding, contrary to the laws of the country.
According to the particulars of offence, the accused persons committed the offence on Sunday, 9 August, 2015 at Sammy Town, off Sumaila Town in the west of Freetown.
The matter continues on 20 October.
