The National Electoral Commission (NEC) has declared 12 December as date for the conduct of the parliamentary by-election in Constituency 030 in Bombali District, Northern Sierra Leone.
The vacancy in the said constituency came about following the death of Hon. Dr. Thomas Mark Turay.
According to the commission, nomination of candidates for the election would take place on 15 November at the NEC district office in Makeni, while nomination fees have been pegged at Le10 million.
Meanwhile, no political party has yet put forward a candidate to vie in the by-election, but the area is considered to be a stronghold of the ruling All People’s Congress.
