Mighty Blackpool, East End Lions struggles to complete premier league registration

With less than four days to the kick-starts of the Sierra Leone Premier League, big guns; Mighty Blackpool and East End Lions are yet to complete their full registration as per the Board requirement.

The clubs registration delay was made known last Tuesday, January 22, 2019, by the Premier League Board chairman, Emmanuel Saffa Abdulia during the government of Sierra Leone official presentation ceremony of their support towards the league.

According to Abdulia, they understand the reason why some of the big name clubs are still struggling with their registration but admitted that they are making progress to meet the Board requirement before the league kick-off.

“If the clubs do not meet the benchmark we will return the money to the government. However, we understand some of the reasons why the delay in registration especially the transformation of these clubs to Company Limited by Grantee. But we are helping them to achieve this, and they are making progress to meet the Board requirement,” Abdulia said.

However, Mighty both Blackpool and East End Lions are hopeful to complete their registration before their league opener on the 27th January 2019.

Earlier, the Premier League Board revealed that January 10th, 2019 was the deadline date for the club registration, but it was only East End Tigers who beat the then deadline.
