A six years old girl has yesterday, Tuesday, 4th December, testified before Magistrate Abdul Sheriff of the Siaka Steven Street Court No.7 on how she was allegedly sexually penetrated by twenty-eight year old Ibrahim Kaikai.
The accused, who was remanded at the Freetown Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road, is currently under preliminary investigation at the Magistrates’ Court on a count of sexual penetration contrary to section 19 of the Sexual Offence Act No. 12 of 2012.
Police Prosecutor, Sergeant 1306 Sesay A. alleges that the accused person on a date between Saturday, 1st September to Sunday, 30th September, 2018, at Upper Tengbeh Town in Freetown, sexually penetrated a child below the age of 18 year to wit six years.
Testifying in court, the victim recognised the accused as their neighbour and recalled on the day of the alleged incident.
She told the court that the accused was studying her inside his bedroom when he eventually penetrated her.
She added that she attempted to cry out for help but that the accused placed a knife on her neck and threatened to kill her if she had told anyone.
The victim further told the court that two days after the incident, her mother noticed that someone had tampered with her.
According to her, the mother later asked as to what the problem was and “I explained as to what had transpired between me and the accused.”
She testified that the matter was reported to the New England Vile Police Station where a medical report form was issued her.
The victim narrated that her mother took her to the Rainbow Centre at the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH) for treatment and later returned the medical form to the New England Vile police station where she also made statement.
The matter was adjourned to Thursday, 6th December.
