The Confederation of African Football (CAF) might reschedule the 2019 African Cup of Nations double header qualifiers between Sierra Leone and Ghana based on a recommendation from the world governing body, FIFA.

CAF cancelled the said fixtures due to the FIFA ban on Sierra Leone over claims of government interference after the country’s anti-graft agency’s decision to set aside both the Football Association president, Isha Johansen and General Secretary, Chris Kamara over corruption indictment.

Already, the world football governing body is said to be preparing to send to CAF their recommendation about the said match and the Sierra Leone status after the former had a fruitful meeting with country’s Vice President Dr. Juldeh Jalloh and Attorney General, Dr. Priscilla Schwartz.

According to journalist Umaru Fofana, a decision to revert the game is one of the resolutions of the Wednesday’s meeting in Zurich while also the sanction imposed on the country will be lifted after the trial against Madam Johansen and Chris Kamara.

“FIFA is to advise CAF to reschedule #SierraLeone’s matches against Ghana in the ongoing qualifiers for AFCON 2019, Vice President Dr. Juldeh Jalloh has just told me. CAF cancelled fixtures due to the FIFA ban on the country following the suspension of SLFA President & Gen. Sec,” Umaru Fofonah twitted.

In related development, FIFA and the government of Sierra Leone are to redesign and release a new joint roadmap in a bid to resolve the ongoing impasse surrounding the country’s football.

Also, an expected communiqué is said to be the only legal document to resolve the football impasse in the country.  Meanwhile, it is still unclear if the SLFA boss and Secretary General will be reinstated.
