President Julius Maada Bio has completed the verification, updating and registration exercise being conducted by the National Civil Registration Commission (NCRA) for all civil and public servants in the country, according to a release from State House yesterday.
Shortly after the process, Director General NCRA, Mohamed Massaquoi, thanked President Bio for going through the biometric verification exercise. He disclosed that the process was in line with the request by the Ministry of Finance and the Human Resources Management Office to clean up and then set up an accountable government payroll system.
He added that international partners have welcomed the exercise because they believe it would drive accountable governance.
President Bio said: “Thank you for the difficult task of verification that you have undertaken. I wish you every success as you embark on a process to streamline the payroll.”
The national verification exercise started on Monday 10 September and will end on Monday 24 September 2018.
