Former National Revenue Authority boss, Haja Kallah Kamara, and erstwhile Director of Finance, Abdulai Conteh, have been reportedly slammed Le2 billion bail each before they could be released from police custody.
The duo were arrested last Thursday evening by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for alleged misappropriating billions of public funds while serving as commissioner general and director of finance respectively.
Although details of the ACC investigations remain sketchy as anti-graft investigators continue to probe into what is reportedly grand scale corruption, sources say the ACC is looking into off-budget payments which run into billions of Leones.
Meanwhile, a competent source informed Concord Times before press time that the duo remained in detention over the weekend because they couldn’t meet the stiff bail condition.
