The Saving Lives Non-Governmental Organisation Consortium project, which is aimed at reducing maternal, neonatal and under-five mortality in Sierra Leone, is still continuing its work in all the 16 districts of Sierra Leone.

The Saving Lives NGO or CHANGES Consortium is implementing the DFID Saving Lives NGO Consortium project, which aims to save the lives of six hundred women and five thousand children in Sierra Leone.

Speaking to the press, Country Director for 4M Solutions, which is one of the implementing partners of the Consortium, Madam Manty, said the project started since 2017 to date.

She further that the Consortium’s multifaceted approach was to improve the quality of services and increase the utilisation of services through nationwide scaling up of priority initiatives.

She said the CHANGES Consortium comprises five implementing NGO partners- 4M Solutions, FOCUS 1000, Cordaid, World Hope International, Voluntary Services Overseas and Charlie Goldsmith Associates, with UNFPA as the lead partner.

“The CHANGES Consortium’s interventions address the challenges of poor Emergency Maternal Obstetrics Neonatal Care (EMONC) services, service utilization by the communities, and poor WASH facilities,” she said.
