Conforti Community Aid Children Organization (CCACO) has ended a five- day training workshop for staff, Ministry of Social Welfare and the family support Unit of the Sierra Leone Police on counseling Services at Hotel 5-10 in Freetown.
The five -day workshop commenced on 7th May and ended on the 11th May, 2018.
According to the director of CCACO, Francis Mason, the funding for the workshop was from Network for Africa U.K and Comic Relief U.K, under the project, providing life changing support to people with mental health issues in Sierra Leone.
He added that the program was implemented by CCACO in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs.
Francis Mason concluded by admonishing participants to use the knowledge and skills gained at the workshop and provides professional counseling service for people with mental health issues in Sierra Leone.
he thanked the facilitators, Shelly Evans and Barbara Baver all from the USA for providing such skills for the counselors.
He described the workshop as a capacity building program and reiterated that the project was implemented in Freetown urban and Port Loko District.
Participants expressed thanks and appreciation to the implementers and those who funded the workshop.
