One Mamudu Mansaray alias Papa, has pleaded guilty to one count charge of larceny in dwelling house before Hon. Justice John Bosco Alieu during the call over of cases for the September criminal session of the High Court.
The accused, who was working for the complainant, confessed that on 29th January, 2017, he stole the sum of USD500.
“I am guilty with an explanation,” he told the Judge and confessed that he stole the USD500 in order to take his bleeding wife to hospital.
“Do you need to steal? What is your relationship with the complainant?” Hon. Justice John Bosco Alieu questioned.
Hon. Justice Alieu said the accused would have discussed his problems with his employer, if he was a loyal worker, saying that it was very bad for any employee to steals from his/her boss in order to solve domestic problems.
The accused pleaded for mercy by asking the court to help him, but Hon. Justice Alieu demanded that he should refund the stolen money.
“I handed over the sum of Le2, 600,000 as exhibit to the police. I will be brought to court,” the accused said.
The matter was adjourned to 17th October.
