Magistrate of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No. 1, Santigie Bangura, has yesterday committed two men to High Court for allegedly placing a hot electric presser on the head of a 12-year-old boy.
The duo were also allegedly said to have threatened to kill the boy.
They were arraigned in court for wounding with intent, wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
State Prosecutor, Lawyer A.T Rogers, alleges that the accused persosn, Al-Bockarie Sesay and Ibrahim Muniru Sesay on Sunday 6th August, 2017, at 17c Boyle Lane-Banana Water, Off Murray Town Road, Freetown, placed hot electric presser on the boy’s head with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.
Explaining his ordeals to Magistrate Santigie Bangura, the 12-year-old boy said the accused persons trampled on him when he was exiting a house he entered whilst they were playing hide and seek.
He said as he was running out of the house, one of the accused persons spotted him and called him to the second floor of the house.
“He flogged me with a cable while the second accused person (Ibrahim Muniru Sesay) came in and told him to kill me, claiming that I was a thief,” he told the court.
He said the first accused person (Al-Bockarie Sesay) took a hot electric presser and placed it on his head, adding that he felt serious pain when the iron was placed on his head.
He continued by telling the court that the accused persons held him hostage for seven days with the promise that they would give him medication.
“While I was escaping the house, I met and explained my plight to a military officer. The military officer took me to the Congo Cross police station where a report was made against them,” he explained.
Magistrate Bangura, after the testimonies of the boy and the investigative officer, agreed that the evidence was enough to warrant the accused persons to face the High Court of justice.
The accused persons, who were represented by Lawyer E. T Koroma, were granted a bail of one hundred and twenty million Leones (Le120m) plus two sureties in like sum each.
