President Ernest Bai Koroma will again meet with all factions in the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) crisis today, Wednesday, 12 August, at State House.
The meeting, which was postponed yesterday (Tuesday), is expected to involve football stakeholders, the Isha Johansen led executive and members from both the Ministry of Sports and Sports Council.
All parties will be meeting the President for the first time since the April 2015 Makeni congress which came to an abrupt end as a result of dispute over the eligibility of some delegates.
President Koroma’s latest move is considered to be a one last attempt to resolve the ongoing impasse in football which was fuelled following Isha Johansen’s controversial election on 3 August, 2013.
This is not the first time President Koroma, as head of National Sports Council, is intervening in the football crisis in the country; he did so after the 3 August, 2013 election of Johansen, and also pleaded with stakeholders to partake in the unfinished national 2014/15 Premier League.
