Secretary General of Sierra Leone Volleyball Association (SLVA), Ahmed Khanou, has been appointed technical delegate for 11th All Africa Games men beach volleyball tournament.
The technical delegate appointment in beach volleyball is equivalent to tournament director in football and Khanou will serve in this capacity in Congo, Brazzaville from 5th to 17th September this year.
A letter signed by the Confederation of Africa Volleyball (CAVB) president, Dr. Amr Elwani reads: “We have the pleasure to inform you that you have been appointed as: Technical Delegate for the 11thAll Africa Games – Men (Beach Volleyball) to be held from 5th to 17th September 2015 – Congo Brazzaville. We kindly ask you to confirm your availability for this assignment by signing the attached agreement form and returning it by fax or by E-mail not later than 10th August 2015, in order to finalize all formalities by the organizer.”
Reacting to his appointment following congratulatory messages, Khanou said it was an honour for him to receive such appointment.
“For me this has been an honour and a huge success particularly to the volleyball family in the sports management landscape in Sierra Leone. But bottom line it has been a story made and told by all of us with our inputs, selflessness, resilience, belief in ourselves and a burning desire to achieve greatness not only for our individual aspirations but for our sport, our country and for humanity, “Khanou said.
He further assured that the SLVA secretariat and leadership in particular will make Sierra Leone proud.
