Descendants from the Tainkatopa, Makama and Safroko (TMS) Chiefdom have donated new TVS bike to two winning teams at Rogbelor and Rokonsho villages, TMS Chiefdom, Port Loko district.
The gala was held at the Rokakuta village in the TMS chiefdom and it brought together important stakeholders including the Paramount Chief and friends of Abu Bakarr Sesay in Freetown and it was organised by the chiefdoms descendants and Friends of Abu Bakarr Sesay with the aim to bringing unity and peace in the Chiefdoms.
Speaking after the match, the leader and major sponsor of the match and also National Coordinator of the Buya Romende Development Organisation, Abu Bakarr Sesay, stated that the gala was organised as a way to create unity and peace among the youth in the TMS Chiefdom, noting that bringing youth together would create unity.
He said they gave prizes to different winners including Best behaved team, best player of the match, best goal keeper among others and that the TVS bike would serve as a means of generating revenue for the youth.
“As a son of the soil, this is not the first time I have been promoted the chiefdom. I have been promoting the chiefdom in terms of community development, like helping pupils and rehabilitating schools and health Centres at Buya Romende chiefdom in the Port Loko district,” he stated.
Sesay continued that promoting women, children and youth was one of his major concern especially in his district, noting that the President of Sierra Leone has vowed that he will lay his life for the youths and that he too was ready to bring unity among the youth in the TMS Chiefdom.
