One of Sierra Leone’s leading GSM operators, Africell, has once again demonstrated its passion to enhance the living standards of Sierra Leoneans, especially its esteemed subscribers, through innovative promotions and value added services.
The just concluded ‘Africell Ramadan Game Show 2015’ saw some four hundred and thirty-one (431) subscribers win cash prizes amounting to Le287,800,000; Le2,800,000 worth of airtime credit, as well as generators, fridges, plasma TV sets and data credits.
Wednesday, 22 July, 2015 was a special day in the lives of Yahya Nyallay who operates GSM number 077977695, and is a machine operator at OCTEA Mining Company in Kono, and Sarah Mansaray, who uses GSM number 099677401, a charcoal seller and resident of Hill Station in Freetown, as they both received the star prize of Le50,000,000 each from the company.
During the presentation ceremony at the company’s headquarters on 1 Pivot Lane, Wilberforce, Corporate Affairs Officer, Joe Abass Bangura, said: “We will splash cash prizes to winners in their different locations. Household items for winners in Freetown will be collected from our headquarters. For those in the provinces, the company will deliver their items this week at their various provincial headquarter towns.”
He congratulated winners of the promotion and expressed hope that those who did not win directly would enjoy the fun of participating in another of their unique and innovative TV reality shows.
“It is our belief that our subscribers who attempted the promotion were directly able to enjoy the bonus on-net units we gave back for each attempt they made,” Mr. Bangura noted.
Running alongside the Ramadan Game Show 2015 was a scheme launched by Africell to make a generous donation of Le10 million to one needy institution every Friday throughout the month of Ramadan.
The School for the Blind, J.T. Reffle Memorial School, National Association of Senior Citizens in Sierra Leone, Sierra Leone Muslim Congress Mission, and White Angels Cleaning Organization each received Le10 million.
Representatives from all of the aforementioned organizations thanked Africell for the donation and pledged to use the funds for their intended purpose.
The winners commended Africell for making them millionaires and pledged their continuous patronage to keep the company above all others at all times.
