Cricket: Old Princewaleans tops T20 division I log

Old Princewaleans Cricket Club got-off a flying start in the ongoing Sierra Leone Cricket Association/Mercury International T20 Division One league by registering two wins out of two, to move top of the league table.

The Princewaleans are leading the log with four points, thanks to double win over Murray Town Cricket Club and the Old Academicians Cricket Club.

On Saturday, Murray Town won the toss and elected to bat and the MTCC were all out for 72 runs in 13.4 over in the first inning. Edward Ngeba in 3 over secured 2 wickets and conceded 10 runs with an economic rate of 3.3. Onessimus Bull also secured 3 wickets in three overs, while both John Bangura and Humper both accounted for two wickets.

Old Princewaleans replied in the second innings with 73 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 6 overs to march to a 7 wickets victory. Yegebeh Jalloh was the Prince Princewaleans top scorer with 18 runs not out followed by C.Brown with 16 runs, while Apor made 2 runs not out.

On Sunday, the team secured a four overs win against Albert Academy who won toss and batted first. They were limited to 114 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs, while Old Princewaleans replied with 115 for 3 in 15.5 overs.

Earlier on Sunday, Kent Cricket Club (KCC) started  their campaign by thrashing Murray Town Cricket Club by 78runs. Murray Town won the toss and decided to field as KCC scored 143runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. The KCC opening batsman, Idrissa Bah scored an impressive 57runs off 61 balls not out to grab the man of the match award.

Murray Town replied with 65runs all out in 16.4 overs with KCC Sahr Gbla took 4wickets from 15 runs in 4 overs.
