Sierra Leone winger, Sheriff Suma, is now waiting on the Norwegian authorities to grant him a work permit after the former FC Kallon and Syrianska winger on Tuesday July 14 signed an 18-month deal with Norwegian first division side, Kvik Halden.
The 28-year-old, who joined Halden for an undisclosed fee, completed his medical on Monday before putting pen to paper that will see him spend the next one-and-half seasons with the Norwegian outfit.
In an exclusive interview with Concord Sports after the deal was struck, a delighted Suma said he was pleased with the contract and ready for the new challenge.
“I am satisfied with the move and it is good to be back in Norway. For me it’s good to be in a new club with new challenge. I hope to face the challenge and take up my game into the next level,” Suma said.
However, the winger, who can also play left-back, was quick to dismiss suggestion that his move could be a springboard for another call-up to the Sierra Leone national team, Leone Stars.
“No, my move here is not about Leone Stars, I had been with Syrianska IF and was never playing well over there. So my coming to Norway will not change anything, neither am I considering a call-up to the national team. I just want to give my best for my new club,” Suma said.
Kvik Halden’s move is Suma’s second spell in Norway after having played for FK Haugesund in the summer of 2008 from GAIS – one of Sweden’s oldest teams.
