Newly promoted Cypriot first division club, Aris Limassol, has announced the signing of Sierra Leone striker Mustapha ‘Haji’ Bangura on an 18-month contract.
The former AEK Larnaca and Apollon Limassol forward is one of 12 players already signed by the club this summer as they continue their drive to strengthen the squad ahead of the Cypriot top division league season.
After the deal was completed, the club posted on their official Twitter page: “New transfer acquisition for our group, Sierra Leone striker, Mustapha Bangura #welcome.”
Bangura, Steve Borg, Mali midfielder Souleymane Keita, Apollon youngster Kyriakos Panagi, OFI’s Andreas Labropoulos, Valentinos Pastelis, and Minas Antoniou Amine Meftah were all signed from the Cyprus second division league.
Other signings by the club include: French striker Goran Jerkovic, former Polish international Roger Guerreiro, and former Slovakian keeper Marian Kello, while Silvio Gonzalez and Douglas also returned to the club.
The 25-year-old Bangura is the second Sierra Leonean player to sign for Aris Limassol after Gibrilla Julius Woobay, who had joined the team on a season loan from Romanian side Universita Craiova.
The following season, Woobay signed a one-year deal with the club before leaving for Egyptian side, Al Masry.
