Minister of State II in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Isata Kabia has on Wednesday launched the newly constructed Ministry of Sport website.
Before officially unveiling the new website at the conference room of Sports Council, Stadium Hostel in Freetown, she said the move by the ministry has shown that sports is a tool for education and people must not diminish or demoralise sports participants or athletes.
She said: “This has demonstrated sport is a tool and platform to galvanise youth and create the bedrock for development. “
Minister of Sports Ahmed Khanou said the new website is the latest strategy of the ministry’s efforts to establish itself as a premier provider of policy direction and professional services for sport development in an equitable and sustainable manner.
“The sports website now creates a platform for the ministry, sporting association and all to interact towards the development of sports in the country,” Khanou said, adding that there are lots of other things in store from the Sports ministry.
The new website, www.mos.gov.sl, is still under construction with several input to be made.
