Côte d’Ivoire and PSG defender Serge Aurier is a major doubt for Saturday’s final 2017 AFCON qualifier clash against Sierra Leone in Bouake after he was spotted leaving Stade Louis II on crutches last Sunday.
The defender struggled to recover from a shock clash with Benjamin Mendy in PSG first defeat of the season to Monaco in the French Ligue 1.
The Ivorian right-back, who also had an assist in the 3-1 defeat, played full-time but his departure on clutches leaves a major doubt over is availability for Saturday’s clash.
Already French coach Michel Dussuyer will not have the services of skipper Yayah Toure and his Manchester City teammate Wilfried Bony.
Meanwhile, Coach Dussuyer has announced he will have decisive talks with Yayah Toure over his future for Ivory Coast. The midfielder was left out by the French coach and the gaffer has been quiet on his absence but explains that the series will come to an end.
“I have to talk with Yaya Touré. What I can say today is that we have a meeting soon to discuss his future with the whole selection,” the former Guinea coach said on the Ivorian Federation website.
“I think everyone is waiting for this decision. I also know that it is important now that things are addressed so that we can proceed peacefully. I think it is a situation that must find its epilogue. This event will be decisive for the rest of the immediate future of Yaya selection, “he said.
