Sierra Leone U-19 cricket national team will kick-start their campaign in the ICC-Africa Cricket U-19 championship against Tanzania on 10 September in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The latest revised fixture and final programme released by ICC-Africa shows that the team will arrive on 8 September, two days before the opening ceremony, and Coach George Kpundeh boys will take the ovals against the East Africans on Saturday, 10 September.
The team will then have a double West African test when they take on Ghana and Nigeria on 11 and 12 September respectively, before having a day’s rest in the tournament and resume on 14 September against Zambia.
Team Sierra Leone will also have a further rest day on 15 & 16 September before taking on Botswana on the 17 and Rwanda the following day.
Seven nations – Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana and Rwanda – will battle for the single available qualifying spot in the ICC-World Cup qualifiers.
Meanwhile, the Sierra Leone team is still undergoing intensive training in Freetown as they are expected to depart the country early next week for the tournament.
