Turkish third tier side Yeni Amasyaspor have unveil Sierra Leone international David Simbo after completing a year deal from Belarussian top flight club Krumkachy Minsk for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old, who felled out of favour with the Belarusian club, said he was pleased to join the newly promoted side.
Simbo joined Krumkachy Minsk in March but only featured in six matches from 19 games a situation that left the former Mighty Blackpool defender very frustrated and spoke openly he wanted to leave the club.
Reacting to the Turkish move, the former Narjan SC defender said his desire to play regular football week-in-week-out saw him move away from Belarus. “I made my intention know to the club and at the end we all agreed.
Simbo is part of Coach Sellas Tetteh’s 14 invited professional players for Sierra Leone’s crucial Nations Cup qualifying match against Ivory Coast; he is expected to join the rest of the squad in their camping base in Accra, Ghana.
