A Swedish Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)- Support the Children of Sierra Leone has during last week provided another support to different people and organizations in the country .
On behalf of Support the Children of Sierra Leone organization, Madam Fatmata Brink said the items were provided by different Swedish people including teachers, students and business people through her organization that is based in Sweden.
The items includes used clothes, computers, school benches, chairs, foams mattresses, cantons of different hospital equipment, primary school text books and motor bikes to support different communities and institutions across the Country.
The beneficiary organizations includes the Network for Children in Need at the Allentown community , Government Hospital and one Primary School at Kasirie village, Port Loko District.
Madam Brink said the donation was part of their continued support to improving the lives of the needy people in Sierra Leone, particularly children and the physically challenged whose venerability was high.
She observed that there were lots of people in the country that lacked basic facilities.
She further stated that the donated items worth over $40, 000, adding such was not the first donation made by the Swedish people.
“We have done a lot and we plan to do more. My organization is also helping different orphanage homes including the Advanced Orphanage Schools at both Rogbangba and Makeni,” she said.
“We are helping with both financial and education materials to different communities and individuals in the Sierra Leone.”
Director of the Network for Children in Need Orphanage, Madam Inna M. Kamara, said the donation was the second she had received from the Swedish people.
She promised to share the items so that each child could have one.
“This is not the first time I have received this kind of donation that comprises of different items from the Brink family,” said Madam Kamara.
Simeon Kamara is the Chairman of the Grafton Polio Association, another beneficiary group.
He thanked the Swedish people for helping them, stating that, “We are just happy for this and we would share the items to all members of the association,” said Kamara.
