Commercial sex workers remanded

Four commercial sex workers and one Abu Bakarr were yesterday remanded at the Female and Male Correctional Centres respectively, for being found loitering with intent.

The accused persons – Fatmata Tarawallie, Juliana Harold, Sia Sandy and Fatu Sesay – pleaded guilty before Magistrate Dr. Abou Bhakarr Binneh-Kamara  on five counts of loitering with intent, contrary to law.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused persons on 7th and 8th August, 2016 at P.Z, Campbell Street, and Siaka Steven Street were found loitering with intent to commit a felony.

However, Magistrate Dr. Binneh-Kamara stated that since the accused persons pleaded guilty of the offences charged, he would sentence them on the next adjourned date – 12 August.

The matter is prosecuted by Police Constable 9559 Leslie Pratt.
