Newly promoted Swaziland side Midas Mbabane City has reportedly made an offer for out-of-contract Mbabane Highlanders’ Sierra Leone defender, Baimba Kamara.

Kamara, who has spent the past two years with the Highlanders, has refused to sign a new deal with the club, which has prompted interests from several clubs.

The observer.org.sz has quoted sources close to both the Highlanders and Kamara’s agent to have confirmed that Midas City has approached the player with the view of luring him to their team.

“Negotiations between the two parties began [June 12] after the Sierra Leone defender declared that he is open to join any team since his contract has expired with Highlanders,” the Observer quoted an impeccable source.

The player’s agent, Dumezweni Dlamini, when contacted by the same media house for comment, asserted knowing about the negotiations involving the player and Midas City.

“A lot of teams have approached me but we are still in negotiations with Midas City,” Dlamini said.

The former Mighty Blackpool and Sierra Leone U-23 defender has also confirmed that he wants Highlanders to triple his salary compared to what he was getting last season at the team, but such is yet to happen.

If he failed to sign a contract extension then Midas City will face tough competition from other big local teams who are said to be monitoring the player’s situation with keen interest.
