Magistrate Dr. Abou Bhakarr Binneh-Kamara Monday committed to the High Court a matter of office breaking and larceny involving four accused persons who are alleged to have broken and entered into the office of Kwame Eku Kumson Insurance Brokers Company and stole property worth Le25 million.

The accused persons were arraigned at the Freetown Magistrates’ Court No.1 on two counts of conspiracy and office breaking and larceny contrary to law.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused persons on 13th November, 2015 at Pademba Road, with intent to steal, broke and entered into the office of Kwame Eku Kumson Insurance Brokers Company and stole four AP computers, one Laptop, one Samsung camera, and cash of Le3.5 million, totaling Le25 million.

In his ruling, Magistrate Dr. Binneh-Kamara stated that the prosecution called three witnesses and that the evidence before the court against the accused persons was sufficient to warrant the committal of the accused persons to the upper court for trial.

“I have thought of the evidence in this matter and I am satisfied that the accused have questions to answer in respect of the offences charged. I therefore commit this matter to the High Court for trial,” he ruled.

However, Magistrate Dr. Binneh-Kamara put the accused on Le40m bail and two sureties in like sum, adding that the sureties must reside within the Western Area while bail should be approved by the acting Master and Registrar of the High Court.
