Secretary General of Sierra Leone Premier League club FC Kallon, Blamoh Robert, Thursday officially declared his intention to run for the Western Area Football Association (WAFA) chairmanship.
Roberts officially confirmed his intention for the hot-seat at the club’s secretariat at Charlotte Street and said his decision to contest was to make a complete change in the game within the region.
With the WAFA elections scheduled for 7-8 May, the FC Kallon scribe believes he is the right man to transform the association to higher height because of his administrative prowess.
He said: “I am no longer a stranger in football administration, my track records are there to justify since I took over as the head of FC Kallon secretariat.
“Football within our region is not attractive, that is why our clubs are starving. We need to bring a new look to the football industry and I believe I am the right person to lead WAFA to that pathway.”
Robert also revealed that the support and trust from the other members prompted him to make a final decision to race for the position.
Others are yet to make official declaration for the influential position, but it is believed that the current chairman, Abdul Hamid Kanasieu, will seek re-election.
The two days annual ordinary congress would be staged at the Western Area Rural District Council Hall, Old Road-Waterloo.
