Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Member of Parliament representing constituency 085 in the Moyamba district, Hon. Veronica Sesay has told a new batch of presidential appointees to be tolerant, patient and considerate in their dealings with those they work with in their respective institutions.
She was speaking Tuesday, 12 April, in the House, during the plenary session to approve presidential nominees. She urged the approved officials to serve the people of this country, including the opposition, adding that they oppose to keep the ruling government on their toes.
Hon. Sesay also urged the new Chief of Defence Staff, Brigadier John E. O. Milton, to protect and secure the borders, especially amidst terrorist threats in the sub-region.
She said she was confident the new Governor of the Central Bank and Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Mr. Momodu Lamin Kargbo and Dr. Kailfala Marah respectively, have the ability to manage the country’s economy. She also implored them to ensure that exchange rate of the Leones as against the Dollar is stabilised.
Hon. Sesay described the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs, Madam Rugiatu Neneh Turay, as ‘a woman of substance’ who would not allow circumstances to embroil her in the kind of embarrassment that saw the sacking of her predecessor and minister.
