Sierra Leone international defender cum midfielder, Ibrahim Marcel Koroma, has joined Swedish

Division One (third tier) league club Huskvarna FF.

The 27-year-old signed a one-year contract with the club after ending his short spell with Danish club Lyngby BK.

The Swedish club, who announced that they have signed the former FC Kallon player, said on their club website that the defender will add experience to their squad due to his wealth of experience from a number of Swedish and foreign clubs.

“He is a fantastic player who has been in little damage, but he is about to build up again,” said the club’s sports director Issa Iskander.

“Koroma is cheaper than half the squad and he sees this as a chance to come back to the larger scenes. This is a win-win situation for both the club and Koroma.”

Reacting to the move, the former Trelleborg and Varbergs BoIS defender said he decided to join the Division One club after a respectable dialogue and revealed that there is an option for a contract extension.

He told the club’s website: “I’m here at Husqvarna FF after they met me with respect and we had a good dialogue from the beginning.

“I know what to expect, and I know what the club expects from me. I think, with my experience, I will bring something extra, that’s why I’m here.  I already love this.”

Koroma’s spell in Sweden started way back in the 2009 season after joining Swedish third tier club Motala AIF on loan from FC Kallon.

Even though the club was relegated at the end of the season, the defender returned again for the first half of the following year and he was voted best defender of all the six fourth tier leagues in the country. His successful spell at Motala saw him move to Allsvenskan club Trelleborgs FF in July 20110.
