Sierra Leone international striker, Ibrahim ‘Teteh’ Bangura, says he wants to show people the old Teteh Bangura just after signing for Swedish Superrettan (second tier league) club Gais.

The former AIK forward penned a deal which will keep him at the club until the summer with an option for extension if the club elects.

According to Bangura, who has tried to get his career back on track following a turbulent injury period, his move to Gais is to prove critics wrong and show people the old ‘Teteh’ Bangura.

“The first time I came to Sweden it was to Gothenburg, back in 2007. It feels great to be back and I’m glad to have had this opportunity,” the forward told Fotbollskanalen.

The 26-year-old, whose career has been hampered by injury, had his first training session with the team last Friday morning and after which said: “I feel good, easy and in shape. I’ve been training a lot since I left Mjallby AIF, among other things, with the national team at home in Sierra Leone.”

On getting back to his 2011 form in AIK, the forward said: “I’m aiming for it! I want to show people the old Teteh Bangura. Hopefully I’ll succeed. It has been difficult with injuries and so. It’s been a little crazy. But this is football and now I’m ready to take this opportunity. I will do my best to make the fans happy.”

However, the former Bursaspor hit-man will have to battle five other players (Luther Singh, Luka Mijaljević, David Johannesson, Shkelqim Krasniqi and Pule Maraisane) for the two attacking spot.

Teteh Bangura had a fantastic 2011 year in the Swedish Allsvenskan league with AIK, scoring 15 goals in 17 matches.
