Sierra Leone international and NK Olimpija new acquisition, Gibrilla Julius Woobay, is eyeing the Slovenia league title with his new club, just a month after joining.
The attacking midfielder is set to make his debut for the current Slovenian PrvaLiga leaders on Sunday as his NK Olimpija side will host Koper and the former Nefčija playmaker said he is well set and ready for the new challenge.
Woobay and another new signing Marko Nikolic were both officially unveiled at the club house on Thursday and in his first interview on Slovenian soil, the former East End Lions talisman sent a loud message to the fans that he is ready to give his best and poised for the new challenge.
He said: “Do not worry, I am good enough and I’m ready, not only well prepared physically, but also with mental rigidity.”
The 32-year-old, who is already eyeing the league crown with the Slovenia outfit said: “I came to a good club that is fighting for the title, which is the most important thing. I like ambitious clubs, because I ambitious too.”
“It’s hard to play with a squad that is only interested in bare survival. I’m really very ambitious, I have always been and this is one of the reasons for me to join Olimpija especially having gone through the proposal by the club officials and I knew immediately that this is the right club for me.“
NK Olimpija are currently leading the 25th edition of the PrvaLiga table with 46 points from 22 games. The league, which commenced on 17 July, 2015 will climax on 21 May, 2016.
