The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) says they are still waiting on a reply from their Liberia Football Association (LFA) counterpart as to whether to use the Antoinette Tubman Stadium or the Samuel Kanyon Doe complex in Monrovia as their artificial ground for forthcoming competitions.

Sierra Leone is still seeking a venue for their home matches and is expected to host the young Fennecs of Algeria on the weekend of July 31-August 2 in the U-23 Rio 2016 Olympic Games qualifiers, and also Ivory Coast in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Unlike Sierra Leone and Guinea who are still serving a CAF imposed international ban following the Ebola outbreak, Liberia are expected to host their first international match in Monrovia on July 5 since they were declared an Ebola free nation.

SLFA media officer, Abu Bakarr Kamara, confirmed to Concord Sports that they are still working on securing the Monrovia venue for their matches, especially the return leg tie with Algeria in the Olympic Games qualifiers.

He said: “We are still working on it and have done all the official formalities as we want to play the match in Liberia. We are only waiting on a response from Liberia.”
