Swedish second tier league club Dalkurd FF has confirmed they will not offer Sierra Leone and former AIK Solna striker, Ibrahim Teteh Bangura, any contract.
The Sierra Leone international underwent a one-week trial with the newly promoted club but after the workout, the club made it clear that they have decided not to offer the forward a deal.
“We have chosen not to go on with him. He did it well here whiles on trials, but we are looking for a different type of player,” Dalkurd sporting director, Adil Kizil, said in a message to Swedish based Dalarnas Tidningar sport.
According to the striker’s agent, a deal was not struck because the club was looking for a different player with different quality.
He said: “He did really well during the trials. Teteh is a box striker but the club needs a striker who can run throughout the box.”
The 26-year-old, who spent a lengthy period on the sidelines due to cruciate ligament injury last year, signed a short-term contract with Swedish second tier side Mjallby AIF in a bid to resurrect his career.
The former Sierra Leone Premier League goal king made six appearances for Mjallby, netting two goals.
