Kamara could quit Bolton before January

December 15, 2015 By Sahr Morris Jr.

Sierra Leone midfielder Mohamed ‘Medo’ Kamara could leave English Championship side Bolton Wanderers before the January transfer window.

According to report from Bolton News online, the former FK Partizan Belgrade midfielder – who is yet to feature under Neil Lennon since the manager’s arrival last October – is considering other options following the club’s failure to pay senior football staff last month.

The newspaper reported that none of the Whites squad has been given a guarantee that they will receive payment in December, which has led some to investigate where they stand contractually.

With Kamara’s deal running until the end of the season, the 28-year-old is said to have been looking for a new club for some time but has been unable to agree a settlement with the Whites.

“He could soon be able to walk away from his contract if the financial problems continue to hit home,” Bolton News reported.

Kamara, who was loaned to Maccabi Haifa during the summer, saw his spell with the Israeli club fell through after a change in management. It was also reported that Bristol City were also considering a move for the player at the start of the campaign, but that never materialised.

The former HJK Helsinki midfielder has not played for Wanderers since last September when he turned out against Chelsea in the Capital One Cup. In total he has made 57 appearances for the Whites and scored three goals.

Kamara joined Bolton during the reign of Dougie Freedman for £750,000 from FK Partizan Belgrade in 2013.
