The son of former Sierra Leone national team captain, Ibrahim Kargbo Jr, has expressed his delight to join Belgium third tier league side, Lierse Kempenzonen on loan from first division club, Roeselare.

The 19-year-old,who has already made his debut with the First Amateur Division side coming off the bench in their 2-1 away defeat to La Louviere Center believes the move was to help him get more playing time and his development in the game.

Kargbo Junior who plays as an attacker joined Roeselare in January 2018 and had to make eleven appearances before he was sent on loan to the third tier league side.

The striker, who is on loan for a season, is expected to fill the gap that Marvin Ogunjimi had left. The latter was banned to the B-core last week.

The young striker who carries both Belgian and Sierra Leonean nationality, started playing his football with Germinal Beerschot U-9 sides in Belgium, before on June 2016, his father, Ibrahim Kargbo Snr, confirmed that Crystal Palace completed the signing of his son and was drafted immediately to Premier League side Under 17 and 18 squad.

Kargbo Jr. has also had spell with Reading youth sides U-13 and U-16, where he continued to excel before his move to Palace. He has already featured for Belgium’s Youth U-18 side in a four nation’s friendly tournament in Murcia (Spain). He played full time against Ireland and the Netherlands before having 64th minute run against Czech Republic. The striker scored on his debut against Ireland.
