Presiding Magistrate Mark Negeba at Pademba Road Court No.1 yesterday remanded one Kemoh Koroma at the Male Correctional Centre for allegedly stealing one Samsung mobile phone.
Koroma is before the court on three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony contrary to law, robbery with violence and assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to Section 23 (1) (b) of Larceny Act of 1916.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Sahr Dauda Karku alleges that the accused on Saturday 19th January, 2019 along Parton Street in Freetown violently robbed Mohamed Kamara of one Samsung Galaxy and other items valued four million five hundred thousand Leones.
In another development in the same courtroom, Melvin Buckle was also sent on remand for allegedly wounding one Yusifu Dumbuya.
Dumbuya was charged with the office of causing grievous bodily harm, and wounding with intent contrary to Section 18 and 20 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.
According to the prosecutor the accused allegedly committed the crime on Sunday 28th April, 2019 at Berwick Street in Freetown.
Meanwhile, the magistrate has adjourned both matters to 3rd September, 2019.
