President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Madam Isha Johansen, is set to be declared by FIFA president Joseph Sepp Blatter as the first female Integrity and Security Committee member of the football world governing body when the committee meets in Zurich, Switzerland today.
Madam Johansen left Freetown for Zurich on Sunday evening to attend her first Integrity and Security Committee meeting as a member. The meeting is slated for today (September 23) at the home of FIFA.
It is the SLFA president’s second appointment as a FIFA committee member.
The Integrity and Security Committee is very vital in FIFA as its members play a key role in the governing of the organization.
The issue of integrity within the game and among member associations and indeed FIFA itself, has been one of growing concern, so it is an issue which is expected to form part of the discussions at the meeting.
