13-year old sexual victim has narrated how she was abused by her aunt’s husband and recalled the date of the incident.
The victim testified that at one time her aunt was not around and that she was with the accused, together with his daughter (Esther) at home, when he played phonographic movie and started touching her breast and waist.
She said the accused then asked her for sex, but she refused. She said the accused then threatened that if she refused, he would tell her aunt about top up cards money that she misappropriated.
“After he threatened me, I removed my clothes and he also removed his clothes and had sexual intercourse with me. After the forceful sexual intercourse, I observed blood discharging from my virgina and my stomach started aching. I had thought that if I refused him and he explained to my aunt about the misappropriation, she would flog me,” she testified.
She added that after the sexual intercourse, the alleged perpetrator told her not to disclose what had transpired between them.
The 13-year-old said the accused had several intercourses with her until at one time when she visited her father, when her step-mother noticed that she was not healthy.
She further said they immediately interviewed her about her health and she explained that it was the accused that has been having sexual intercourse with her when once her aunt was not around.
She said her father then took her to the Regent Police Post where they were issued with a medical report form.
The victim said she was later taken to the Rainbow Centre at the Princess Christian Maternity Hospital (PCMH) for treatment and later returned the medical form to the police and made statement.
Mohamed Turay, 33, a Mason, was yesterday (Monday 25th February) remanded at the Freetown Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road for an allegedly penetrating a 13-year-old girl.
The 33-year-old man is preliminarily being investigated at Magistrates’ Court No.7, presided over by Abdul Sheriff on one count of sexual penetration of a child contrary to Section 19 of the Sexual Offenses Act No. 12 of 2012.
Police prosecutor, Inspector Sahr Karku, alleges that the accused on a date between Tuesday 1st March, 2018, and Saturday 1st December, 2018, at Saba Drive, Regent Village in Freetown, the accused sexually penetrated a girl below the age of 18 to wit 13 years.
The matter was adjourned to Wednesday 27th February.
