Amadou Bakayoko goes for goal
Striker, Abu Bakarr Kargbo, scored the winner on his return from injury as Berliner AK 07 secured victory over BFC Dynamo in their Bundesliga Nordost league at their Poststadion on Saturday.
Kargbo has been out of action since October, with a shoulder injury and the match was the Sierra Leonean native first appearance since recovering from an injury that has kept him out for three months.
The forward winner moved Berliner Athletik Klub 07 (AK07) to second in the log of the Germany fourth tier league. In England, Coventry City forward, Amadou Bakayoko, registered his name on the score-sheet in their 3-0 win over his former club Walsall FC at the Ricoh Arena.
Bakayoko’s goal was his fourth of the season and it came from Dujon Sterling’s cross to the near post, which he headed home just inside the six-yard box. Coventry City moved to 9th place in the Sky Blues league, and seven points of the playoff zone.
Elsewhere, Major League Soccer side, Real Salt Lake, thrashed Mustapha Dumbuya’s Phoenix Rising 4-1 in the Mobile Mini Sun Cup on Saturday night.
Dumbuya, who is a new Phoenix Rising signing saw his side took the lead from Adam Jahn goal, but the Real Salt Lake scored four to seal the win in the Sierra Leone right-back’s fourth appearances for the United Soccer League side.
In Italy, Rodney Strasser was in Pro Villafranca side that was held to a 2-2 draw against Gaviese in the Serie D promotional battle and in Greece, Alie Sesay played full time for Kissamikos, who went down 1-0 to Ergotelis.
John Kamara was called on duty again during the weekend for Kesla, who secured a 2-1 home win over Sumqayit and it was a red letter day for the Sierra Leone skipper whose FC Zurich suffered another defeat, this time to Young Boys.
