13 remanded for possession of ‘diamba’, riotous conduct

Presiding magistrate at Pademba Road court No.1, Sahr Kerkura on Friday remanded 13 accused persons on allegations of conspiracy, riotous conduct, disorderly behaviour, throwing missiles, carrying offence weapon contrary to the Public Order Acts of 1965 1973and unlawful possession of cannabis sativa  contrary to section 48 1 of the pharmacy and drugs Act of 2007.

Police prosecutor, Inspector E. Conteh alleges that Gribill Umary, Edwand Hach Jalloh, Abdulai Jalloh, Musa Dadis Kamara, Mizhael Cole, Sahien Kamara, Alusine Tarawallie Foday Kamara, Emmanual, Litlle, Ibrahim Conteh, Shekin Sillah, Meriba Sheriff and Bangalie Kamara on Tuesday 12th February, 2019 in Freetown, conspired together and with other person unknown to commit the said offences.

The accused were not represented, and the presiding magistrate Kerkura remanded them and adjourned the matter to 19th February, 2019

In a related development in the same court, the magistrate remanded ten person accused of riotous conduct contrary to laws of Sierra Leone.

The accused persons were before the court on two counts of riotous conduct and disorderly behaviour contrary to Section 12(a) (15) of Act No. 2 of 1973.

Inspector E. Conteh, who prosecuted the matter alleges that Abdulai Majua, Issa Turay, Emmanual Little Chernoh Bangura, Alusine Kamara, and Augustine Conteh on Saturday 12th February, 2019 in Freetown,behaved in a riotous and disorderly manner.

The magistrate remanded the ten men and adjourned the matter to 19th February, 2019 during which the prosecution is expected to open its case.
