Sierra Leonean forward, Augustine Williams, has joined United Soccer League (USL) side, LA Galaxy II pending league and federation approval, the club announced on Tuesday, January 29.
According to the club’s website, the 21-year-old signed for the Los Dos after spending two seasons with Portland Timbers 2.
“We are very pleased to welcome Augi to Los Angeles,” LA Galaxy General Manager Dennis Kloese told the club website. “He is a young talent who brings explosiveness and versatility to our offense. We are excited about his future within our club and look forward to providing him with opportunities for personal and professional growth.”
Williams, who was born in Freetown, signed his first professional football contract with Portland Timbers 2 in August 2016 and played 28 games, scoring five goals with two assists for the club.
He also played for Juventus Club, based out of Redwood, California, and Alliance F.C. in Hayward California.
The newly found Sierra Leonean striker will kick-off their 2019 USL Regular Season on Saturday, March 9 against Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
