The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday invited the National Secretary General of the main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) for questioning on corruption related issues, but was later released.
His invitation by the country’s anti-graft agency could not be unconnected to his alleged collection of state funds as former High Commissioner to Ghana, while at the same time serving as Secretary General for the APC.
The commission’s Public Relations Officer, Margaret Murray, said Ambassador Osman Foday Yansaneh was accompanied by his legal team.
“I can confirm that Ambassador Yansaneh is here with his legal team for questioning on corruption related issues. I cannot comment on whether he will be detained or not,” she said.
But Head of Outreach Unit, Abubakarr Turay, later informed Concord Times that the APC scribe was allowed to go home after his interrogation by investigators.
