SLFA appoints new PLB

The Executive Committee of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, appointed Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai to serve as chairman of the newly constituted Sierra Leone Premier League Board (PLB) for the 2018/19 league season.

Abdulai, who is a barrister and solicitor in the High Court of Sierra Leone and had also served as Chairman of Premier League Club, Old Edwardian Football Club, will head the board that will saw the resumption of the country’s topflight league which has not been playing for over four years.

In an exclusive interview with Concord Sports, Abdulia said he was delighted to be given such an opportunity to help revive the league and ensure the country’s topflight league return to action.

He said: “ I clearly wants all to come onboard and ensure we have a well-structured Premier league in the country. I am ready to work with the cubs and all members for us to have a more formidable league the before.”

Barrister Abdulai is also the Chief Executive Officer of Luawa Football Club, playing in the first division of the Western Area Football Association (WAFA). He was a member of the Premier League Board in the 2012/2013 league season.

He has also served as a member of the Sierra Leone Football Constitutional Review Committee and played active football as a striker at Old Edwardian Football Club.

The SLFA Executive Committee also announces other members of the board;

JAMES FOFANAH – MEMBER (Leone Stars Coordinator)

ALHAJI SAMOURA – MEMBER (Head of Cooperate Banking ECOBANK)
