Sierra Leonean youngsters; Abubakar Koroma and Santigie Fornah are the two selected U-12 ambassadors that will be on their way to Russia to participate in the 6th Gazprom Football for Friendship International football friendly Program.
The Sierra Leonean kids will be joined by kids from over 210 countries around the world, in Moscow on June 8th to 15th this year.
Koroma was selected as a young and promising football player, while Fornah was chosen as a young journalist ahead of the event that will also include a 3-day training camp in Moscow.
Mulku Sulaiman Bangura will head Sierra Leone’s delegation for the first time to the Football for Friendship program. He cited that the selection process of the duo was done based on merit after conducting a trial session for a group of U-12 kids in the Western part of the country.
While the head coach, Abdul Aziz Fofanah expressed gratitude to FIFA and Gazprom for such an opportunity to allow the kids to showcase Sierra Leone through football.
The young footballers will also participate in workshops and sessions, conducted by renowned celebrities.
Some of the key values promoted by the program include friendship, equality, fairness, health, peace, devotion, victory, tradition, and honor.
